Meet the Team
Andrew Sinclair
President & Founder
Andrew has over 20 years design experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, from the first recombinant insulin process
through to large scale monoclonal antibody manufacturing. He has had direct experience of and responsibility for manufacturing,
logistics, maintenance and capital programme management.
Most recently he was Director of Engineering and Logistics at Lonza Biologics. Andrew has an MSc in Biochemical Engineering
from University College London. He has published widely and has presented at numerous industry conferences.
Claire O'Beirne
Company Secretary
Claire manages the company accounts and payroll and ensures compliance with relevant legislation and regulation. As Company Secretary,
Claire also advises on HR policies and procedures.
Miriam Monge
Vice President, Global Key Accounts
Miriam has over 20 years international experience in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector. Miriam joined Biopharm Services following 14 years with
Sartorius Stedim Biotech where in her role as Marketing Director she worked closely with Biopharm Services to develop a design and implementation approach for
disposables into biomanufacturing. Miriam founded the ISPE disposables community of practice of which she has just completed a 3 year tenure as Chair, she
is a regular presenter at International conferences and has published widely notably co-authoring two regular industry columns, the 'disposables advisor'
in Biopharm International and a manufacturing economics column 'delivering affordable biologics from gene to vial' in Bioprocess International.
Miriam holds an MBA from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Marseille and is a Senior Visiting lecturer at MBI continuous education biomanufacturing training
courses, University College London.
Yuki Abe
Modelling Specialist
Yuki focuses on modelling innovative bioprocesses, engineering design and evaluate the economic impact of design and applications. She graduated
with a PhD in Biochemical Engineering and a MEng in Biochemical Engineering with Bioprocess Management at UCL, London. Her PhD research focused
on the use of biophysical methods to analyse the stability and the structure of a MAb under a range of bioprocess conditions.
Highlight of her
research was mainly based on the use of small angle x-ray solution scattering and analytical ultracentrifugation as additional to more
conventional analytical techniques. Also she acquired basic knowledge of UNIX. She got IBM Business Consulting award (2005) and a Derek
Robert Scholarship (2003) during her undergraduate degree from the department.
David Wareheim
Process Specialist
Dave Wareheim is a process specialist with over 25 years design and operational experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Dave has had
responsibility for the development and tech transfer of a number of biopharm products. Of particular relevance is his experience in the
use of process mapping for analyzing parametrics, organizing the upstream and downstream steps, and his extensive process modelling
experience ranging from DCS configuration to enterprise workflow mapping.
Prior to joining Biopharm Dave was an Engineering Research Fellow Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical R&D. David has a BSc in Biology, he
has published widely and has presented at numerous industry conferences, and has provided innovative solutions to process needs.
Stephen Vranch
Manager Regulatory Compliance
Responsible for advising on Regulatory Compliance of facilities and processes for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, including
biopharmaceuticals and vaccines. Advice includes biosafety requirements for pathogens and genetically modified organisms.
Andrew Brown
Head of Software Applications and Senior Consultant Engineer
Head of software applications for the development and application of the BioSolve Software Suite. Andrew has extensive experience of
bioprocess modeling and the economic implications of innovative process design and application of new technologies. Consultancy areas also
include manufacturing strategy, market analysis for new technologies, engineering design including single-use process design and
biopharmaceutical facility layout. He is a biochemical engineering graduate with an EngD in Biochemical Engineering and Bioprocess Management
from UCL, London. His research focused on the process development, modeling and scale-up of membrane filtration systems.
Andrea Rayat
BioSolve Product Manager and Consultant Engineer
Andrea focuses primarily on the development and product management of BioSolve, working directly to support the BioSolve User base. She is a
chemical engineer with a background in biotechnological and chemical processes. She has experience in the scale-up of membrane processes,
design of membrane devices, process analysis involving antibody fragments production, bioparticles, and other bioproducts. She has been
involved in engineering design, process and economic modelling, technology assessment, biotechnology business planning as well as in
engineering education. She was a research engineer and teaching assistant at University College London and, before that, was a lecturer
in chemical engineering in the Philippines. Andrea has a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from UCL, and an MSc in (Bio)Chemical Engineering
from Delft University of Technology.
Claire Burden
Consultant Engineer
Claire focuses on engineering design, modelling bioprocesses and the economic implications of innovative design and applications. She is a
biochemical engineering graduate with an EngD in Biochemical Engineering and Bioprocess Management at UCL. Her research focused on primary
purification and chromatography. She has GMP production experience within manufacturing environments for vaccines and therapeutics.
Siraj Zarook
Lead Software Developer
Siraj is the lead developer for BioSolve Process and the research programme to develop future applications to support process development
and tech transfer within the biologics industry. He has a strong track record in leading, managing and delivering software development
projects. In his career Siraj worked for one of the UK’s leading software solution providers and delivered solutions to process
credit card applications for major UK banks for 7 years from 2004. He was also the key for maintaining and enhancing of company’s
online invoice processing system. As a part of streamlining the existing process he played a major role in migrating legacy systems
onto the latest Microsoft .Net platforms which also helped to enhance the security aspects of the system. During this development he
worked with internal personnel who were maintaining the ISO 27001 standards for the organization.
